Kilgore, TX – The International Economic Development Council Wednesday awarded Kilgore Economic Development Corporation with an award for best website at its annual convention in Reno, Nevada.
KEDC was competing in the category of General Purpose Website by organizations serving areas with populations under 50,000. The selection committee noted that KEDC made a winning impression by employing many “web 2.0” features such as a staff blog and RSS feeds for news items or featured properties. The KEDC website can be found at www.kilgore-edc.com.
“Furthering economic development is rarely a simple task in the best of times, and advancing the cause in the midst of a global financial crisis in nothing less than arduous,” said Ian Bromley, IEDC chair. “As the consequences of the widespread economic turmoil have taken hold, we have seen our members become even more ardent proponents of economic development, flying in the face of one of the most challenging economic environments we have experienced in our careers. We tip our hats to the Kilgore Economic Development Corporation for its superior work during these difficult times.”
“Communication with our constituents is crucial to KEDC, and our website is an important element in our communication strategy,” said Amanda Nobles, executive director. “We are honored to have it recognized by such a prestigious group of professionals.”
