Mission
Statement
The Northeast Texas Economic Developers
Roundtable is a voluntary association of economic development
practitioners in an area encompassed by the Ark-Tex and East
Texas Councils of Governments. The mission of the Roundtable
is to gain and to act upon the advantages of "pooled mutual
interests" that supports the development of Northeast Texas
Objectives and Work Principles
The Mission of the Roundtable is furthered
and guided by the following objectives and work principles.
The Roundtable shall:
• Foster cooperation and coordination among economic development
practitioners.
• Exchange ideas regarding economic development issues,
practices, and principles in Northeast Texas.
• Develop policy statements on development issues affecting
Northeast Texas.
• Evaluate new economic development programs that have
a bearing on present development efforts in the region.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to legislative and
agency actions that have a bearing on economic activity in Northeast
Texas.
• Examine the prospects of developing marketing and promotional
programs for the region.
Membership and Organization
• All persons who are actively engaged
in the business of economic development in Northeast Texas may
become a member of the Roundtable.
• The Roundtable Shall have three officers: President,
Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer.
The President shall preside at meetings of the Roundtable and
perform specific duties that the membership may determine. The
Vice-President shall act for the President in the event of his/her
absence and perform other duties as designated by the membership.
The Secretary/Treasurer shall keep the records of the meetings:
have charge and custody of the funds of the Roundtable; and
send out meeting notices, minutes, etc.; and perform other duties
as designated by the membership.
• Time and place of roundtable meetings shall be decided
by the membership.
• Committees of the Roundtable shall be created by the
membership when required.
• Officers will serve a one-year term. At the end of each
term, the Vice-President will automatically move up to President
and the Secretary/Treasurer will move up to Vice-President.
The Secretary/Treasurer will be elected by the membership. |
